Deirdre Adams

Meet Deirdre Adams, a Political Science and Public Relations major at Florida State University. This summer, Deirdre is interning in the office of Representative Greg Steube (R-FL).  

“By interning on the Hill, I hope to learn more about foreign affairs and national intelligence. But beyond that, I want to gain a network that is supportive and helps me broaden my knowledge on policy and gain a fresh perspective. WCSF has already tremendously helped me with that.” 

 

Morgan Hubbard

Meet Morgan Hubbard, a Literature, Media, & Writing major at Spelman College. This summer, Morgan is interning in the office of Representative James Clyburn (D-SC). 

“With the opportunity to intern on the Hill, I am excited to gain first-hand experience with policy changes and hearings on pressing social issues. I hope to use the internship to consider diverse perspectives, collaborate with my cohort, and convey a Congressman's opinions. I intend to contribute to the congressional office by leveraging my organizational, writing, and speaking skills.” 

 

Isabel Muraca

Meet Isabel Muraca, a recent graduate from Haverford College with a degree in Political Science. This summer, Isabel is interning in the office of Representative Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA).  

“I hope to learn about my strengthens, interest areas, and how to bring my undergraduate experience into the work world.” 

 

Ryan Vasquez

Meet Ryan Vasquez, a recent graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Political Science. This summer, Ryan is interning in the office of Representative Michael Haridopolos (R-FL). 

“I hope to gain more experience in policy specifically, in policy analysis. I also am very interested in learning just the inner workings of a larger governmental system such as the capital compared to smaller communities that I have previously been a part of.” 

Natalie Almog

Meet Natalie Almog, a graduate student studying Middle East Public Policy. This summer, Natalie is interning in the office of Representative Mike Lawler (R-NY).  

“I hope to gain a deeper understanding of how policy is developed and implemented on Capitol Hill, particularly in the areas of foreign policy and national security. I am also excited to learn from experienced staff, strengthen my research and communication skills, and better understand how Congress engages with both domestic and international issues.” 

 

Jin Kim

Meet Jin Kim, an Industrial Labor Relations major at Cornell University. This summer, Jin is interning in the office of Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY).  

“I hope to gain a deeper understanding of how congressional offices respond to constituent needs while shaping national priorities. I’m excited to strengthen my research, communication, and professional skills while learning how public servants collaborate to address issues affecting communities across the country.” 

 

Janice Nguyen

Meet Janice Nguyen, a Political Science major at Penn State University. This summer, Janice is interning for the House Committee on Education and Workforce, Majority. 

“By interning on Capitol Hill, I hope to gain firsthand experience in the legislative process, strengthen my professional skills, and learn how policy impacts communities across the country.” 

 
 

Maggie Hartman

Meet Maggie Hartman, a Public Policy major at the University of Michigan. This summer, Maggie is interning in the office of  Representative Hillary Scholten (D-MI). 

“I hope to learn more about how Congress works through my legislative internship. I'm excited to develop the skills and knowledge needed for government and other future careers. I also hope to learn more about the impact that federal legislation can have on the districts and people it represents.” 

 

Tenny Larsen

Meet Tenny Larsen, a Master’s student studying Public Health at Yale University. This summer, Tenny is interning in the office of Representative Suzan DelBene (D-WA).  

“I hope to learn about health policy on the federal level and more about the needs of people from my community back in Washington state.” 

 

Mehek Saha

Meet Mehek Saha, an Economics and Political Science double major at Vanderbilt University. This summer, Mehek is interning in the offices of Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) and Representative French Hill (R-AR).  

“I hope to learn how to channel my commitment to public service into real impact, understanding how staffers turn constituent needs into legislation that meaningfully changes lives.” 

Maggie Howerton

Meet Maggie Howerton, an Economics and History major at Emory University. This summer, Maggie is interning in the office of Senator Jerry Moran (R-KS).  

“I hope to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of how politics works on the inside from constituent outreach and attending hearings, votes, and Senate proceedings.”

 

Gabriella McField

Meet Gabriella McField, an Economics major at UC Berkeley. This summer, Gabriella is interning in the office of Representative Mike Levin. 

“I hope to develop a sense of what kind of career I will find personally fulfilling. That's why I am grateful for WCSF's guest speakers, as they offer an overview of what careers in politics exist and what those careers are like. Another way I will be exploring careers is by meeting with Congressional staff members in my personal areas of interest, such as communications and clean energy.” 

 

Sophia Riley Sim

Meet Sohpia Riley Sim, a Public Policy major at Cornell University. This summer, Sophia is interning in the office of Representative Dave Min (D-CA).  

“I hope to strengthen my skills in political messaging, particularly in digital media, through my internship with my home representative.”
